Country house route Utrechtse Heuvelrug: a tour of Doorn and Driebergen

Your route starts at Hotel Landgoed Zonheuvel. Today you will cycle through the heart of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. In this national park, heathlands, open sandy plains and deciduous and coniferous forests alternate in a slightly undulating landscape. No wonder that many country houses were built here centuries ago. You will pass the striking Poorthuis Ruiterberg from 1917. A little later you will cycle a bit through the valley around Langbroek. Here you will see a typical landscape with rectangular plots. Here too there are nice houses, such as the country house Leeuwenburgh that dates from 1657. Towards the end of your route you will pass Huize't Stort, a villa from 1903.
