Nature tour: Keersop and Grootgoor

This route takes you through the Brabant Kempen west of Eindhoven. You make a big round where you visit places like Eersel, Bergeijk and Loveren. You cycle through vast forests and heathlands, but also past authentic Kempen long-façade farms. Between Waalre and Dommelen you cycle through the valleys of the Dommel and the Keersop, a branch of the Dommel. In this stream landscape you see wooded banks, heathlands and ponds. Due to the winding bed, the flow speed in these streams varies, which is good for the natural variation. The kingfisher and yellowhammer live in this area, you even see hayfields with orchids. The Grootgoor is an ideal habitat for deer because of the rich undergrowth.
