Amsterdam lends itself perfectly to a varied green and water-rich cycling route. With this tour you will drive along the various waterways in the city and you will see a number of special city mills. You start in the canal belt where you will of course see one characteristic building after another. Via the center you drive along the course of the Amstel to the Amstelpark. The route takes you through the Beatrix Park to the Nieuwe Meer. You drive through the Oeverlanden, a rugged nature reserve that arose from the reclaimed soil of the lake. In this urban oasis you have a wide view over the water of the Amsterdamse Bos. In the Sloten district you will come across the first of five city mills, Molen de Sloten. Via the polder you cycle to the village of Halfweg, which takes its name from the fact that it is halfway between Haarlem and Amsterdam. The landscape here consists of an intimate interweaving of river, polder and city. You drive back to the canal belt along the Spieringhorn sports park.
