This route takes you through Kapellen and Brasschaat, two natural towns north of Antwerp. You drive past numerous villas, and you also discover beautiful nature reserves and a former anti-tank ditch along the way.
Antwerp Antitank Canal
From Floreal Camping Het Veen you can quickly drive to the beautiful park De Mik, a former arboretum. You can make a stopover here on the cozy terrace of petting zoo Mikerf. In Maria-ter-Heide you cross the Antwerp Antitankgracht, an artificial waterway that lies in a quarter circle around the northeast of the city of Antwerp. Today it is a nature connecting area between different forests.
Domain Bremdonck
You cycle through the greenery to Kappellen, one of the richest municipalities in Belgium. You drive through green areas with villas, country houses and even castles. In Brasschaat you will find many parks and forests, such as the ancient Peerdsbos through which you will pass. It is part of the Bremdonck domain, which was donated to the hospital of Antwerp by Isabella van Breda in 1280.
