In World Heritage De Beemster you cycle along the straight roads that are so characteristic of this area. The landscape here mainly consists of agricultural areas with a historic farmhouse here and there. You will also find many mills and mill corridors here that regulate the water level.

Then it's time to explore the polders. Windmill De Nachtegaal in Middenbeemster is the first windmill you encounter. Until 1960 De Nachtegaal regularly ground corn, but after that the mill came to a standstill. Ironing mill I, Strijkmolen K and Strijkmolen L together form a mill corridor. Ironing mill I dates from 1864, the other two were built around 1631. The last mill you cycle past is Molen de Otter from 1899.
