In the Beemster World Heritage Site, you'll cycle along the perfectly straight roads so characteristic of this area. The landscape here consists primarily of agricultural land, dotted with historic farmhouses. You'll also find numerous windmills and windmills that regulate the water level.

Then it's time to explore the polders. The first mill you'll encounter is De Nachtegaal windmill in Middenbeemster. Until 1960, De Nachtegaal regularly ground grain, but then it stopped operating. Strike Mill I, Strike Mill K, and Strike Mill L together form a mill run. Strike Mill I dates from 1864; the other two were built around 1631. The last mill you'll pass is De Otter windmill, dating from 1899.
