In World Heritage De Beemster you cycle along the straight roads that are so characteristic of this area. The landscape here mainly consists of agricultural areas with here and there a historic farmhouse. You will also find many mills and mill corridors here that regulate the water level.

Then it is time to explore the polders. Mill De Nachtegaal in Middenbeemster is the first mill you encounter. Until 1960, De Nachtegaal regularly ground corn, but then the mill came to a standstill. Ironing mill I, Ironing mill K and Ironing mill L together form a mill corridor. Ironing mill I dates from 1864, the other two were built around 1631. The last mill you cycle past is Molen de Otter from 1899.

Another attraction on this route is the Fort at Spijkerboor, which is part of the Defense Line of Amsterdam. The fort was mobilized during the First World War, but has also had other destinations.
