Description

First a cup of coffee at't Wapen van Bunnik and then you get on your bike. This route leads you through all kinds of sights to the nice Wijk Bij Duurstede, where in Roman times there was a Roman Castellum on the Rhine. The route leads you past Beverweerd, a castle that has been towering over the Werkhoven greenery in white plaster for several years now. The exterior of the castle has been restored to the condition it was in the middle of the 19th century. It is now an international school of the Quaker community. Sandenburg Castle was completely rebuilt in 1865 by order of a count. It is still inhabited by his descendants. Walenburg Castle from the thirteenth century is located on a small island. The garden is on a second island.
