Description

First have a cup of coffee at't Wapen van Bunnik and then you get on your bike. This route leads you via all kinds of sights to the nice Wijk Bij Duurstede, where in Roman times there was a Roman Castellum on the Rhine. The route takes you past Beverweerd, a castle that has been whitewashed for several years and has been towering above the greenery of Werkhoven. The exterior of the castle has been returned to the condition in which it was completed in the mid-19th century. It is now an international school of the Quaker community. Sandenburg Castle was completely rebuilt in 1865 by order of a count. It is still inhabited by his descendants. Walenburg Castle from the thirteenth century is located on a small island. The garden is located on a second island.
