Winterswijkse Molenroute

Your route starts at Hotel Cafe Restaurant"De Lindeboom\\\". This ride takes you through the Winterswijk National Landscape in the Achterhoek. You drive through a beautiful scenic landscape consisting of groves, avenues and hedgerows. Narrow valleys are intersected by meandering streams and characteristic old farms pop up along the winding roads - as do all kinds of cozy catering establishments. You will also come across a number of windmills in Winterswijk. The Meenkmolen dates from 1851 and was restored in the 1980s. In Molen Bataaf from 1801, an interesting exhibition has been set up about the founders of the mill, the Scholte farmers of Winterswijk. The restoration was completed in 2010. All mills still grind on a voluntary basis.
