You will of course experience Leusden!

This route takes you through the quiet forests and old estates west of Leusden. You cycle through the Lockhorsterbos, among other things. Various deciduous and coniferous trees grow here together. Some trees are a few years old, the stately oaks and beeches are estimated to be over 200 years old. The forest is a true refuge for all kinds of bird species. You will find almost all native tit and woodpecker species, but also the bullfinch, the robin, the garden warbler and even the kingfisher. From this forest you drive through the ancient estate Den Treek and you pass one of the most beautiful country houses in Leusden: Huize Den Treek. From the forest area you cycle via the town of Woudenberg to the Valley Canal, a watercourse that formed an important part of the Grebbe Line. As you cycle along the canal, you will see a few casemates in the landscape. One of those casemates on the Langesteeg has been set up as a new information point about the Grebbe Line.
