Just behind the North Holland coast, cycling through the vast polders is a beautiful experience. There's plenty of cultural history to experience here. You'll cross the North Holland Canal via one of the five remaining pontoon bridges in the Netherlands. Along the way, stop at the By Broersen farm shop for a snack. You'll also cycle along the historic West Frisian Circular Dike, offering beautiful views of the meadows and characteristic farmhouses. In Schoorl, you'll pass the Kijkduin Mill, dating from 1772. Further on, you'll cycle past the old White Church in Groet, after which you'll cycle through the Hargerpolder and Pettemerpolder. The Hargermolen, dating from 1804, still drains the polders here, albeit on a voluntary basis. You'll thoroughly enjoy the tranquility. The final kilometers will take you past the bulb fields in the Zijpepolder.
