Walking on the island of Tiengemeten

Experience life in and around the historic farms of nature island Tiengemeten. Taste the crops the way they used to be and imagine yourself back in time when covered wagons pass you on your way to the Oude Polder. The east of the island gives you an idea of the 19th century small-scale agriculture: cute fields are sown with vegetables of yesteryear, small orchards provide fruit and Dutch draft horses stroll leisurely through the meadows and over the dikes. History radiates from the landscape here! It is not a far walk to the Tiengemeten Visitor Center, where you can learn everything about this special island. Also nice is a visit to Helena Hoeve Streekmuseum, or taking a look at the Rien Poortvliet museum.
