Tour of the Loonse Drunense Dunes and Giersbergen

Your route starts at Honderd BunderBos. Nearby you can walk straight into the Loonse and Drunense Dunes. Here you will see heathland, but also the drifting dune that gave this nature reserve its nickname the 'Brabant Sahara'. Your route takes you through the forests that were planted to prevent the drifting sand from advancing towards inhabited areas. Here you have beautiful views of the sand drift. Enjoy the views before you walk to Giersbergen. Here you will find almost only monumental thatched long-façade farms. You can still experience the atmosphere of times gone by here. A nice hamlet to stay for a while, take your time! Just outside Giersbergen, walk along the edge of the forest with a view over arable and grasslands. In this way you walk straight through nature back to your starting point.
