Cycling along the banks of the Berkel

Through Ruurlo to Borculo
Beltrum is the starting point of this route. From here you cycle through the Gelderland scenic landscape to Ruurlo. This cozy town once consisted of a vast swamp area, but you no longer see any of it. Just before you enter the town you will pass Ruurlo Castle. This country estate was already mentioned in documents in 1326. Part of the medieval wall of the castle can still be found in the basement and almost the entire left side of the castle was built in the sixteenth century. The tower at the back of the castle dates from the seventeenth century and other parts of the castle were built in the 19th century. The Olliemölle
The Oliemölle/Stone table is an undercast watermill that consists of two parts on different banks. On one bank there is a grist and peeling mill and on the other bank a former oil mill that was converted into a grist mill in 1920. The current water mill has its origins in the eighteenth century.
