Description
Delft is known for its pottery: the historic town is where Delft Blue originated. It has grown into a lively student city, fun! There are numerous monumental buildings in the city, the historic city center is well preserved. The quieter rural area of Delft forms a great contrast to the bustling city. It is wonderful here to find your way to Vlaardingen, the herring city of the Netherlands. The Delftse Hout consists of an old city park (Hertenkamp) with old trees, where bats, among other things, seek refuge. You will also find a unique peat area with canals, ponds and orchids. The Grote Plas was created when meadows were reclaimed here.
