Your cycle route starts at Camping De Westeinder, on the beautiful Westeinderplassen. There are peat lakes in the area, thanks to large-scale peat extraction from 1600. You will also discover the Braassemermeer and the Geerpolderplas. First you cycle to the Fort near Kudelstaart. One of the two fort guard houses and the mountain shed are still there, as is the moat. Greenhouse cultivation sets the fort in stark contrast to its surroundings. Fort aan de Drecht consists of a main building, which has no front building but a postern. You can enter the fort via a reconstructed access bridge. You can see the Thamer Church from 1835 from far and wide: an iconic building in the village of Uithoorn. The tower used to be used as a landmark for travelers. Take a break at Het Pannenkoekenfort!

Personal and hospitable service, good food and a casual child-friendly atmosphere: this is a cozy spot! Here they welcome you with a cheerful smile. Just outside the built-up area of Uithoorn, where the Amstel river flows into the Drecht, one of the more than thirty fortresses that once formed the Defense Line of Amsterdam is located in a rural area. For decades now, the area surrounding the fortress has been the domain of flora and fauna. A nice area for walkers, cyclists and a nice place to moor with a boat. Explore the beautifully meandering Amstel from here!
