Description

First you walk to the Emmapark, named after the former State Mine Emma. At the beginning of the twentieth century, this was the second largest coal mine in the Netherlands. Now you will find a park and new housing estate. Then you walk further via the fish pond of Weggebekker to the Brunssummerheide , nearby. This is the only large heath area in South Limburg. In addition to heathlands, you will also see forests and fens. With a bit of luck you will hear the'cowbells\\\' ringing, a sign that the shepherd and his flock of sheep are nearby. A nice sight! Stop by the visitor center: not only to learn more about this special area, but also because of the beautiful view of the natural beauty.
