The Goudriaan route

The Goudriaan route is a circular walk through the ancient peat meadow landscape of Waterland-Oost. The Goudriaan route takes you past reclaimed land, lakes, country roads (\\\'gouwen\\\') and peat streams that have expanded into long puddles (\\\'dieen\\\'). Via a meadow path and a high sea dike you walk back to your starting point. You pass the Kinselmeer and the Bloemendalergouw, a country road lined with farms that served as the basis for peat extraction from the Middle Ages. The name of the route is due to the Goudriaan canal. Due to the construction of this canal, the unusable connection to Holysloot via the Muntergouw was remedied by a canal dike. The route is marked with blue stickers with the name of the route and an icon on it. The alternative options are indicated with yellow stickers. Dogs are not allowed on this route.
