Into the woods near the Eelerberg

This route takes you to the Eelerberg, the northernmost peak of the Sallandse Heuvelrug in Overijssel. It's a special place to explore on foot, and not just for the views you get from clearings. You will find a beautiful estate with forests and a special story here. You walk here through a deserted and very quiet forest. The whimsical oaks, white birches and ancient juniper bushes give the forest a mysterious touch. You can well imagine that the local inhabitants used to see ghosts and white women here on a regular basis. So always look around when you hear a twig crack.
