Walk through and around Oisterwijk

The Oisterwijk Forests and Fens belong to Het Groene Woud, one of the twenty National Landscapes. You walk through vast forests and past mysterious fens. There was once an extensive heath here. At the beginning of the nineteenth century, hectares of Scots pine were planted for mining and shipbuilding. Nowadays there is also deciduous forest. While walking you will have plenty of time to spot woodpeckers, although it is not easy to spot the shy birds. The many fens date from the last ice age. You can see grebes, cormorants and ducks. With this walk you will also discover the beautiful center of Oisterwijk. Especially De Lind with its mansions (protected cityscape!) is beautiful.
