Nature route Voorne-Putten

This cycle route starts at Strand- en Eetcafé Boelies. You can discover the most beautiful nature reserves at Voorne-Putten under the smoke of the world port of Rotterdam. Voornes Duin is one of the most species-rich dune areas in Western Europe. In addition to beautiful dunes, you will find flowery grasslands, moist valleys and dune forests here. Because no drinking water is extracted here, the dunes are very humid. Numerous birds can be seen in the dune lakes. You will pass the shore of the Oostvoornse Meer, a nice place to take a dip. Then you drive along the leafy shore of the Brielse Meer. You cycle back with a view of the Haringvlietdam (the sixth structure of the Delta Works), while you ride along the Haringvliet. On and around the water you will find all kinds of animals - especially birds - and plants.
