Your route starts at Camping & Guesthouse De Brembroeken. In Boxmeer you will see the Boxmeer Castle Museum, which functioned as a real fortress in earlier times. Descending along the Maas, you cross the Maas to Afferden by ferry. From here we cycle parallel to the Maas. Past the marina't Leuken you see the former Well castle looming, with the'Dragon Tower\\\' as the remainder. After another crossing of the Maas, take the ferry and follow the meandering Maas to Sambeek. The oldest lime tree in the Netherlands is located here: the Linde van Sambeek; this gnarled tree is estimated to be between 500 and 1,000 years old. The fifty-meter-high late Gothic St. John's Tower in Sambeek can be viewed and visited. The oldest part dates from 1486.
