Description

From here you can take a nice tour through the Loonse & Drunense Duinen National Park. This area is known for its vast sandy plain, but the forests are also very beautiful. The name of's Gravenmoer is derived from moer, a peat area that was owned by the Count of Holland. The village was first mentioned in 1293. It originated as a peat colony and originally belonged to the County of Holland, which owned part of the area south of the Maas.'s Gravenmoer was from the beginning a skipper's place where peat, straw and brushwood were traded. In 1950 the harbor was filled in and shipping came to an end.
