Description

Between Zevenbergen and Breda you drive through the other Brabant: that of the vast polders and creeks. You will find plenty of peace and quiet here, and you can get a breath of fresh air on the car-free roads. At junction 63 you pass the Gat van Den Ham, a creek that was created by the Sint-Elisabeth flood of 1421. You then drive along the harbor canal to Hoge Zwaluwe. Here you will pass, among other things, the Sint-Willibrordus Church from 1865. Zeldenrust is a flour mill from 1866. On the edge of Terheijden you will pass the Kleine Schans, a fortification dating from the Eighty Years' War. From junction 53 you drive over the Haagse Dijk. The Zwartenbergse Polder is on the right, the Strijpen nature reserve is on the left. Via Zevenberg you drive to Lage Zwaluwe, which enjoys a protected village view. The route ends at Poort naar de Biesbosch.
