Tour of the Old Port, Leuvehaven and Central Station

This walking route through the historic heart of Rotterdam starts at Café Postiljon. At the Old Port you will pass the world-famous Cube Houses. You can view one from the inside at number 70. You will also see the Netherlands' own White House here: a 45-meter-high office building from 1898. It was the first skyscraper in Europe at the time. The Kraneschipbrug, a pontoon bridge, offers you a beautiful view of the ships in the historic Leuvehaven and the Maritime Museum. You walk back via the new Central Station, one of Rotterdam's architectural icons. A number of historical elements of the old station building from 1957 by Sybold van Ravesteyn have been preserved, such as the original clock on the front facade and the 'speculaasjes': two granite sculptures on platform 1.
