Description

This cycling route starts off nice and lazy: you take a series of ferries to the centre of Rotterdam. Under the Van Brienenoord Bridge, all the way to the iconic Erasmus Bridge, which you also sail under for a while. That's a great way to arrive in the city, you see the skyline getting closer! In Rotterdam, you can take your time with a cup of coffee at Café Postiljon before you follow the river back by bike. You cycle past the Oude Haven with its cube houses to the Van Brienenoord Bridge. At the Nesserdijk it seems as if you have left the city far behind you, what peace and quiet all of a sudden. You cycle all the way to Kinderdijk, where sixteen polder mills were built in 1738 to protect the village from the water. UNESCO World Heritage!
