Cycling around De Malpie in Valkenswaard

During this route you will be introduced to the heathlands of the De Malpie nature reserve in Valkenswaard. You will find many fens between the heathlands. The soil types are varied in the area and the groundwater in the different fens is therefore at different heights. Due to the diversity of plants, mushrooms and soil types, many butterflies and dragonflies flutter and fly along the banks and over the heath, but reptiles such as grass snakes also have a good time here. Along the way you can visit two historic mills, including De Venbergsemolen. It was restored in 1977 and runs regularly in the summer, but it no longer really grinds.
