Who doesn't know her, the cute rabbit with her stubborn ears that stick up and her dress that is much too big. Dick Bruna, originally from Utrecht, created Miffy in 1955 and the fact that the rabbit is turning sixty is a reason for a party. We would like to take you through the city in which Dick Bruna told his son a story in 1955 about a rabbit that they saw earlier that day in the dunes of Egmond aan Zee. In the Dick Bruna House, a museum that opened in 2006, children can see even more of Miffy and also do crafts and draw themselves. The name of the city has its origins in Latin (\\\"Traiectum\\\") and refers to a place where the Rhine could be crossed in Roman times. The city's iconic symbol is undoubtedly the impressive Dom Tower, which at 112.32 metres is the highest church tower in the Netherlands. Furthermore, in Utrecht you can enjoy beautiful buildings on old canals. The historic centre is still largely surrounded by a moat. The Oudegracht and the Nieuwegracht are unique because of the low quays on which the wharf cellars of the houses on the water come out.
