Description
Picturesque Malmedy is situated in a quiet location in an exceptional green valley of the High Fens. Several small streams meander through the region and cross the green meadows. Because the forests and rivers are protected, the surroundings of Malmedy are an oasis of peace.
Chodes and Boussire
This route also takes you through the surprising pictures of Chôdes and Boussire. Along the road from Malmedy to Robertville, these villages adorn the hills and surrounding ridges. People used to live here from agriculture, but this gradually declined. There is also no shortage of culture in this rich environment. A visit to Reinhardstein Castle is therefore a nice stop during your bike ride, but you have to walk a bit for it. You will be rewarded with a beautiful picture: the imposing castle proudly stands on a rocky outcrop above the narrow Warchedal, at the point where a waterfall springs.

Guarded and protected by the Celts, this castle has kept all its secrets for a long time. The castle was built in 1354 and fell into disrepair from 1812 onwards. In 1965 the ruin was rediscovered and restored to its former glory. Although the castle is relatively new, it still exudes the atmosphere of the past.
