Station Horst-Sevenum Arcen Reindersmeer Tienray Horst Station Horst-Sevenum

After possibly having a cup of coffee or other snack in the historic station, we start the route from Horst-Sevenum station in a north-eastern direction, via the schuitwater nature reserve, towards Broekhuizen. There we take the ferry across the Maas and then cycle to Arcen. Arcen has plenty of restaurants with the well-known ice cream and of course the Kasteel gardens. We continue the road through the woods and not far from the German border to the north-west. At node 30 there is a nice catering facility with a beautiful view over the Reindersmeer. Via the town of Well we cross the Maas bridge towards Wanssum. The area just across the Maas is currently being completely redeveloped. The route via/along the Maas towards Blitterswijk will probably be slightly different. Via the hamlet of Megelsum we pass Tienray and cycle along the gravel holes of the Diepeling towards the castle woods near Horst. Near the ruin is a beautiful new catering facility with a very spacious terrace overlooking the pond. We cycle the last part on the east side of Horst on the cycle path and past the industrial estate (which you hardly see) back to the Horst-Sevenum railway station, where we started.
