Description

This bike ride takes you from the old Dutch city of Delft into the open, green space of Midden-Delfland. Midden-Delfland is the only'Special Provincial Landscape\\\' in the Netherlands. This status has been granted by the province and indicates the importance of keeping this agricultural peat meadow area open.

From the center of Delft you cycle past Royal Delft / Royal Porceleyne Bottle where you can see how Delft Blue has been made since the 17th century. Further along the route, Land Art Delft is located at the TOP (tourist transfer point). You can cycle through the sculpture garden and view the largest tulip vase in the world. The route continues through Midden Delfland, a peat meadow landscape characterized by meadows, ditches and pollard willows.

At junction 71 it is fun to take the ferry 'De Kwakel' to the other side during the summer. There is junction 66. From there you cycle further to junction 39 and you can continue your route.

Are you coming by car? Then start at the TOP (address: Rotterdamseweg 195, 2629 HD in Delft).

Are you looking for a terrace during your bike ride? You can get off at several locations. After you have taken the De Kwakel ferry, there is a café with a terrace in the middle of the Vlietlanden. Enjoy a beautiful view over the water here. You can also continue to Maasland or Schipluiden. And of course there are also some nice terraces at the terminus in Delft.
