Round Iron Man, Stacking Castle and Kampina

Your route starts at Hotel De Kruishoeve, in the beautiful wooded area of the De IJzeren Man recreational lake. From here you drive to Boxtel, where you can take a look at Stapelen Castle. The oldest mention of this castle goes back to 1293, since 1915 it has been used as a monastery by the Assumptionists. A little later you see the forests of the Kampina appear on the horizon. You first drive around it for a while through the beautiful rural area surrounding the forests. This is how you discover the farming hamlet of Lennisheuvel. Then you drive into the Kampina. The further, the quieter it becomes. Grab a bench and enjoy the view over the heath. You might see the herd of Icelandic horses grazing here in the distance!
