Your route starts with a cup of coffee at the Bavaria Brewery Café. The Leest is the first sight on your route: it is a corn mill from 1899. You cross the Wilhelmina Canal and enter the woods of the Molenheide. The heathland is slowly being restored to its former glory, the former production forest is becoming increasingly varied. Special are the hundreds of dead trees that have remained after a storm, which ensure a nice cycle. This creates a more natural forest. When you walk back into Lieshout you will pass Van Gogh Monument windmill De Vogelenzang. Vincent van Gogh lived and worked from December 1883 to November 1885 in nearby Nuenen. In this region he made almost a quarter of his total oeuvre.
