This cycling route starts at Duinhotel Breezand in Vrouwenpolder, a characteristic village around the Pilgrim Church from 1622. This route takes you along the Veerse Meer. The Veerse Meer was created by the damming of the Veerse Gat, when the Delta Works were constructed. Thousands of rainbow and brown trout are stocked here every year. Sailors, anglers, recreational divers, surfers, water skiers and canoeists come to enjoy themselves on and in the lake. Get off in beautiful old Veere. Veere is one of the most picturesque fortified towns in the Netherlands. You will see beautiful monuments, such as the Grote Kerk from 1348. The fifteenth-century town hall with its imposing facade now houses the De Vierschaar City Hall Museum. You cycle back through the villages of Zanddijk and Serooskerke, straight through rural Walcheren.
