Cycling route Lottum, Grubbenvorst and Horst

From the village of Velden, you cross the Meuse River, after which you pass the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption on the edge of Grubbenvorst. A church has stood here since the fifteenth century. The current building was built after the Second World War because its predecessor had been too damaged by the war. Further on, you'll pass two country houses: De Steegh and Kaldenbroek. In Horst, you can enjoy a drink on a terrace at Gron drink eet geniet (Gron Drink Eat Enjoy). For ice cream, you can stop at Passi. Soon after boarding the bus, you'll enter the Kasteelse Bossen (Castle Forests). Here you'll find the ruins of Ter Horst Castle, a fortress dating back to the fourteenth century. Via Melderslo and the Schuitwater nature reserve, you'll continue to Lottum. On the other side of the Meuse, you'll catch a glimpse of Arcen Castle.
