The LF 35 is one of the four cross-connections on the large loop of the Flanders Cycle Route. From Tilburg, the route ensures the connection between the Dutch and Flemish LF networks. From the border in Baarle-Hertog to Sint-Truiden, it is 110 km of cycling. You cross the Kempen largely via the straight banks of a network of canals. A guarantee of safe and quiet cycle paths. In Hageland and Haspengouw, the roads are no longer so straight nor flat. Non-climbers need not panic. You only have to cross a few hills between Kwaadmechelen and Sint-Truiden. Provide variety: the straight lines along canals and the'IJzerenweg\\\' and the many bends through Hageland and Haspengouw. From north to south The route starts at the enclaves of Baarle-Nassau - Baarle Hertog. Via the Bels Lijntje, a former railway bed, you enter Flemish territory in Weelde. In Turnhout, the route runs together with the LF 5 Flanders cycle route along the Turnhout - Dessel canal to the canal junction in Dessel-Witgoor. From here it continues along the Dessel-Kwaadmechelen canal, starting with a dip in the 'Zilvermeer'. At the Albert Canal you enter the province of Limburg. Via the Halve Maan you cycle around Diest and then south to Webbekom where you finally choose Limburg. From Halen to Geetbets you cycle over a former railway bed, the 'IJzerenweg'. Via Zoutleeuw and Wilderen you will find the connection to the LF 6 Flanders Cycle Route past Sint-Truiden. Round trip The LF 35 Kempen-Haspengouw route is a perfect link for multi-day trips through the provinces of Flemish Brabant, Antwerp and Limburg: For a loop Sint-Truiden, Leuven, Mechelen, Lier, Turnhout, Diest, Sint-Truiden, you combine the LF 6 Flanders Cycle Route, the LF 2 Cities Route, the LF 5 Flanders Cycle Route and the LF 35 Kempen-Haspengouw Route in succession. A trip of approximately 270 km. For a trip along the borders of Limburg via Sint-Truiden, Tongeren, Lanaken, Maaseik, Lommel, Sint-Truiden, you follow the signs for the LF 6, the LF 5 and the LF 7 Flanders Cycle Route and the LF 35 Kempen-Haspengouw Route in succession.
