Liberation Route Overloon

The Liberation Route lets you experience what happened in 1944 and 1945 in North Brabant, around Arnhem and Nijmegen and on the Veluwe. The route follows the path taken by the Allies during the liberation of Europe. The route starts at Normandy and runs via North Brabant, Nijmegen, Arnhem and the South Veluwe towards Berlin. These areas played a leading role on the world stage at the end of WWII. Field boulders, the so-called listening points, are located at 75 locations in the surrounding area. At every listening point you can listen to a radio play about the impressive experiences of one or more people in the years 1944-1945. Each field boulder has a QR code that can be scanned with a smartphone with which you can also listen to the story. Cycling route Liberation Route - Overloon: A number of cycling routes have been developed in Brabant that lead past these boulders. The cycling route around Overloon is a beautiful route that starts and ends at Liberty Park Overloon and takes you past three listening places. These take you back to, among others, the battle of Overloon and the fighting at Kastellen Hattert in 1944. There is also a Liberation cycle route around Eindhoven (20 km) and a cycle route around Son en Breugel (27.5 km). The Liberation cycle routes run over the junction network.
