Enjoy cycling along the water

Get a breath of fresh air on the water around Millingen and Pannerden. You enjoy the beautiful landscape while you make kilometers on your bike. On the edge of the Millingerwaard you will see wild plants and animals, such as beavers making their dams and many birds. The silence on the banks of the Rhine is like music to your ears while you follow the soft lapping of the water through the swampy polders.

Havezate Camphuysen
During your trip you will pass nice sights. Havezate Camphuysen was probably founded in the fourteenth century by the Van Camphuysen family. The castle has always been privately owned and cannot be visited. A rural driveway leads to the house, which is surrounded by a moat. The connoisseur will recognize late Gothic elements in the style of the castle building. 

House Aerdt

The Huis Aerdt in Gerwen is also a nice stop. The house is the successor to the castle Ter Cluse from 1549, which was destroyed in the sixteenth century. In and around the house you can still find traces of the old fortress, because the house was built on top of the remains of the previous complex in 1652. The historic house is beautiful and a moat and beautiful pollard willows give the house extra cachet. What is special is that the building is used by both the government and a company and that it is also partly privately inhabited.
