Tour Drents-Friese Wold from Dwingeloo

Your route starts at Camperparc Stee in Lhee. National Park Drents-Friese Wold is located on the border of Southwest Drenthe and Southeast Friesland. This area of more than 6,000 hectares of forest, heathland and stream valley grasslands is one of the largest contiguous forest areas in the Netherlands. This route takes you through the vast forests of the eastern part of this national park. Along the way you drive through the characteristic old Drenthe esdorp landscape. In esdorpen such as Beilen, Diever and Dwingeloo, the farms are located together in the village. Beyond that are the common fields on the ash and the lower-lying meadows. Just north of Diever you can take a trip to dolmen D52. In the village itself is the St. Pancratius church from the twelfth century. This church is considered one of the most beautiful in Drenthe.
