Lucky places tour and the Montfort Castle
We leave at Landgoed Aerwinkel and drive through the Munnichsbos to Montfort and visit Montfort Castle. This castle built in 1260 is also known as D\\\'n Tómp or De Grauwert, is located just outside the center of Montfort. The Grauwert actually refers to a tower in particular, but the name has been used for the entire castle for centuries.
Then we drive through the forest t Sweeltje with the places where coins were found to the Linnerveld. In the Linnerveld, just like in the Leropperveld and the Linnerheide, the remains of an ancient Roer system with dry channels and meanders are clearly recognizable in the landscape. Via the north side of the Hoosden estate, where the old Roermeander has landed in the course of time, we drive to the Thabor priory of the Canons sisters next to the impressive basilica in St. Odiliënberg and back to Posterholt.
