Description

Your cycling route starts at Hofstede Villetta. Via Bruinisse you cycle to Ouwerkerk, where you will see beautiful monuments on the old Ring. On the Oosterschelde you can visit Museum Flood 1953, located in the four caissons that closed the last hole in the dike at Ouwerkerk. Then you visit Zierikzee, with its rich history and beautiful sights. The historic city on the Oosterschelde has retained a unique medieval street pattern. It has been a protected cityscape since 1971 and the town is known as a monument city. Remnants of the city wall can still be seen, but the Sint-Lievensmonstertoren, also called the Fat Tower, is the city's most famous landmark. On the edge of Zierikzee you will pass the Den Haas mill, built in 1727.
