E-bike route Vechtdal and Zwolle

Your route starts at Hotel and Restaurant De Barones. You cycle along the Vecht to the Hanseatic city of Zwolle, which arose in the Middle Ages on a higher cover sand ridge in an area that was otherwise very swampy. The height differences are still noticeable in the Overijssel capital. You will pass through the English Work, a large city park that was built around 1830 on former fortifications. It is decorated in the romantic English landscape style. You also cycle through the Westerveldse bos, a young nature reserve on the banks of the Zwarte Water. In addition to green, you will also see a lot of blue on this route: after all, Zwolle is located at a crossroads of waterways! Creek ridges, river dunes, gullies, mounds, sandbanks... The IJsseldelta is a National Landscape, a typical Dutch polder landscape at its best!
