Tour of Aalsmeer and Westeinderplassen

Put on your walking shoes and discover the surroundings of the Westeinderplassen. The starting point of this route is Brasserie Nieuwe Meer in Aalsmeer. You reach this location with the ferry. Enjoy the water while you are on the ferry. After your walk you can enjoy a snack and a drink at the brasserie, while looking out over the harbor. This walk takes you past the flower auction, the cozy village of Kudelstaart and the edge of the Westeinderplassen, also called the Poel. This lake was created by the excavation of peat for peat extraction. Kudelstaart is known as a water sports resort and is also called the Saint-Tropez of the Low Countries. The village is also known for the fort, which is part of the Defense Line of Amsterdam.
