It is wonderful to cycle along the Westeinderplassen. The starting point of this route is Brasserie Nieuwe Meer in Aalsmeer. You can reach this place by ferry! Enjoy the water and the view of the boats with a snack and a drink. Enjoy the natural beauty in this area. The Westeinderplassen - which you cycle past during this route - is a unique water sports area with many marinas. A network of small ditches connects the lakes. A wonderful area to relax for a while. Be surprised by the Randstad lake area. You cycle past the Kleine Poel and the Westeinderplassen through the countryside of Alphen aan den Rijn to the Noordeinderplas, a vast, shallow peat lake. The reed land around the lakes is a living and breeding area for numerous marsh birds.
