The Westeinderplassen – which you will cycle past during this route – is a unique water sports area with many marinas. A network of small ditches connects the lakes to each other. A wonderful area to relax for a while. Be surprised by the lake area of the Randstad. Along the Kleine Poel and the Westeinderplassen you cycle through the countryside of Alphen aan den Rijn to the Noordeinderplas, an extensive, shallow peat lake. The reed land around the lakes is a habitat and breeding area for numerous marsh birds.
