Kaag en Braassem, South Holland, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 159123
Provided by: Groots Genieten
Beautiful fields characterize the Bollenstreek, one of the most colorful regions in the world. Strips of green meadows and colorful bulb fields alternate. The season is heralded by the flowering of crocuses at the end of March. In late summer, gladioli, dahlias, carnations and asters provide a second sea of colors. You will also come across beautiful mills, such as the Lisserpoelmolen. This ground-sailer was built in 1676 with a steel screw. Most polder mills still had a scoop wheel at that time. Further on you will see the Keukenhofmolen from 1892, which originally stood in Scharmer. In its current location it has a purely landscape value. The ferry across the Kagerplassen completes the route!
