Cycling from Diever through the Drents-Friese Wold

At the start of this route you cycle through the esdorp Diever. From here you can cycle straight into the national park to Appelscha. After the Hoge Veluwe, this national park is the largest contiguous forest area in the Netherlands, but you will find more than just forests. This also takes you past large heathlands and sand drifts. From Appelscha you cycle back to Diever. There you can settle down at Landhotel & Restaurant Diever for a well-deserved snack and a drink. Haven't had enough of the beautiful surroundings yet? Then book an overnight stay at the hotel and continue on the road the next day. The special thing about the Drents-Friese Wold is the wide variety of nature. You will find both dry and wet areas here. This ensures that all kinds of birds live there and it is also teeming with mammals.
