This route will quickly lead you to De Krom Cozy food and drinks for a cup of coffee. Then you discover the Lek. Since the Rhine canalization in 1970, the water level from the weir at Hagestein has been influenced by ebb and flow for most of the year. Just before Streefkerk you pass the Broekmolen, dating from 1581, which was used to drain the polder. You also visit ancient villages, such as Oud-Alblas, Groot-Ammers and Molenaarsgraaf. Wijngaarden is the lowest-lying village in the Alblasserwaard, during the flood disaster of 1953 the village was flooded. You also cycle through Nieuwpoort. This old fortified town has an illustrious history. After 1672, the town became part of the Old Dutch Waterline. The historic center is well preserved.

De Krom Cozy food and drink is located in Molenwaard, a village in the heart of the beautiful Alblasserwaard. In this vast polder landscape you can experience the long history that Holland has with the water. After a day of cycling or walking, it is wonderful to relax at De Krom Cozy food and drink. The Old Dutch cafe has existed since 1861 and has been attractively expanded into a cafe-restaurant with a terrace. Here you can enjoy a drink, a delicious lunch or an extensive dinner. For example, try the eel caught by the owner himself and smoked on a special mixture of oak and beech moth! In season we have Italian ice cream.
