Via the hamlet of Twee Sluizen you walk to the Linge, known for the flowering fruit trees in the spring. A typical Betuwe picture. But actually it is beautiful here all year round! You follow the winding Linge through a beautiful farm landscape. Then you walk into Buren, a picturesque town that can call itself Oranjestad because of its connection with the royal family. You can see here, for example, the fifteenth-century Sint-Lambertus Church where William of Orange married his first wife Anna van Buren. The fortifications are still largely intact.
