Tour of Oldenzaal, Enschede and Hengelo

From the heart of Hengelo, you can stretch your legs as you cycle leisurely to the Lonnekermeer recreation area. Between junctions 94 and 95, you'll cycle through the 't Holthuis estate with its commons, grasslands, hedgerows, and forests. In the former textile town of Oldenzaal, you'll see several beautiful historic buildings and pass the centuries-old St. Plechelmus Basilica. In the countryside, you'll once again enjoy the natural beauty. Combined with the tranquility, this creates a wonderful cycling area you'll want to return to. Just before Lonneker, you'll pass a corn mill dating from 1851. At the Oude Markt in Enschede, you'll see the Grote Kerk (Great Church), among other things. You'll continue along a leafy path to the University of Twente campus. The route ends at the Leonardo Hotel Hengelo City Center.
