E-bike route Amersfoort and Nijkerk

From Hoevelaken you head for Amersfoort. On the edge of the city you cycle through Bloeidaal, a small-scale nature reserve. Further on you pass the Monnikendam, one of the medieval city gates that Amersfoort has to offer. On the Utrechtse Heuvelrug it is beautiful to cycle through old forests and along heathlands. You come across Den Treek, an originally medieval estate with a beautiful nineteenth-century farm and gamekeeper's house. Just past Soesterberg you can visit the National Military Museum. Then you cycle through a completely different landscape: the vast Gelderse Vallei. Around junction 76 you cycle through the fourteenth-century Arkemheenpolder, one of the oldest polders in the Netherlands. At Pancake Farm De Wildenburg you eat a delicious meal, after which you cycle back to the starting point via the pleasant and beautiful Nijkerk.
