Tour along the Meuse at Tienray and Grubbenvorst

You make a short, but rich tour along the Maas in North Limburg. You cycle along the Maas, through nature reserves and through towns full of cultural history. Until Hasselt you can ride your legs over the dike along the Maas, while enjoying the peace and natural beauty. In the pleasant village of Aren you pass Castle Arcen and the ruins of the Schanstoren, a fifteenth-century remnant of the former fortifications of Arcen. You drive through the farmlands on low-traffic roads. In Swolgen you can see the fifteenth-century Sint-Lambertus church. Tienray is also a beautiful village. In Grubbenvorst you can get off and view the beautiful village. First an ice cream at IJssalon Clevers Grubbenvorst and then you get back on your bike. A ferry will take you back to your starting point.
